LGBT Tech's Executive Director, Chris Wood, recently participated in a panel discussion hosted by the Center for Technology Innovation (CTI) at Brookings. This webinar, part of the new AI Equity Lab initiative, brought together a distinguished group of educators, administrators, and experts from the technology industry, civil society, and philanthropy.
The focus of the panel was to explore the inclusive, safe, and ethical use of artificial intelligence in education. As AI continues to evolve and integrate into our daily lives, it's crucial to ensure that its development and deployment are aligned with values of equity and inclusivity. Chris Wood, representing LGBT Tech, contributed valuable insights on how AI can be leveraged to support and uplift marginalized communities, particularly within educational settings.
During the discussion, Chris emphasized the importance of creating AI systems that are not only technically sound but also culturally sensitive and inclusive. He highlighted the need for ongoing collaboration between technologists, educators, and civil society to address potential biases and ensure that AI technologies benefit everyone, regardless of their background or identity.
