On behalf of LGBT Tech, I want to express our deepest gratitude to Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel for her exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to ensuring equitable access to modern communications for all Americans, particularly those in marginalized communities.
Her guidance serves as a model of what inclusive regulatory efforts can achieve. From her stewardship of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) to her focus on ensuring accurate broadband mapping, Chairwoman Rosenworcel expanded opportunities for communities long left behind—including LGBTQ+ individuals who rely on digital connectivity for education, employment, healthcare, and social connection. Her work to enhance
consumer privacy, improve emergency communications, and expand access for vulnerable populations has laid the foundation for a more just and inclusive communications landscape.
Chairwoman Rosenworcel’s dedication reflects a steadfast belief in technology’s power to empower and uplift all Americans. I was especially honored to serve twice as a working group chair of the FCC's Communications Equity and Diversity Council (CEDC) under Chairwoman Rosenworcel’s tenure, working to address many issues important to the American people, most importantly breaking down systemic challenges and uplifting the voices of marginalized communities.
As the Chairwoman steps down, her leadership will be deeply missed, particularly at a time when the LGBTQ+ community faces increasing uncertainty both online and off. Her work should serve as a blueprint for the sort of inclusive policymaking that strengthens the landscape for all who rely on it.
We thank Chairwoman Rosenworcel for her vision, her willingness to engage with organizations like ours, and her tireless efforts to address inequities in the digital space. We wish her every success in her next chapter, and remain committed to advancing the principles of equity and access that she championed with such passion.
